Frequently asked questions

Answers about results, both lotteries, your account and Premium, and playing responsibly.

Results and data

Where do the numbers come from?

We take the results from the official Veikkaus API: the numbers, the jackpots and the prize amounts in each tier. We also check the Eurojackpot numbers against the official Lotto Bayern archive. The status page shows when the data was last fetched successfully.

When do results appear on the site?

Eurojackpot results are published in Finland on Tuesdays and Fridays at around 10 pm (22:00) Finnish time, and Viking Lotto results on Wednesdays at 9 pm (21:00). The site’s server fetches them after publication. The countdown to the next draw is on the Eurojackpot and Viking Lotto pages.

What if the numbers differ from Veikkaus?

The official result comes from the operator, which also pays the prizes: in Finland, Veikkaus. If our numbers and the Veikkaus numbers differ, the Veikkaus data is correct. Tell us about the difference with the contact form, and we will check the draw.

How far back does the archive go?

The archive holds every draw of both lotteries from the last two years, newest first. Older milestones, such as the first Eurojackpot draw on 23 March 2012, are on the history page.

Eurojackpot and Viking Lotto

How do Eurojackpot and Viking Lotto differ?

Eurojackpot is played in 19 countries. A row has five main numbers from 1–50 and two euro numbers from 1–12, and the jackpot is €10–120 million. Viking Lotto is played in 10 countries. A row has six main numbers from 1–48 and a Viking number from 1–5, and the jackpot is €3–25 million. All 12 Eurojackpot prize tiers are shared between the countries; in Viking Lotto only the top two are. Rules for each: Eurojackpot and Viking Lotto.

What are the odds of winning?

The Eurojackpot jackpot odds are 1 in 139,838,160, and the odds of winning any prize are about 1 in 31.8. The Viking Lotto jackpot odds are 1 in 61,357,560. Every draw is separate, so earlier numbers do not change the odds.

Where can I buy a row?

We do not sell tickets or rows. In Finland, Eurojackpot and Viking Lotto are sold by Veikkaus. Veikkaus also pays the prizes: a prize on a row played online goes to your bank account or player account; otherwise you claim it with your receipt. Every prize must be claimed within 1 year. The conditions are in the Veikkaus rules (PDF, in Finnish).

Do I pay tax on a prize?

A lottery prize from Finland or the EEA is tax-free income for the winner (Income Tax Act s. 85). If you give part of the prize to someone else after it has been paid to you, this can count as a gift. Detailed guidance is on the Finnish Tax Administration website.

Account and Premium

Why create an account?

You can read results, the archive and the rules without an account. With an account you manage the newsletter and can take out Premium. Creating one is free and needs your name, email and a password: sign up.

How do I cancel Premium?

Cancel a monthly or yearly plan in My account. Premium stays active until the end of the paid period, and we do not charge the next payment. The lifetime plan does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel. More on the Premium page.

How do I delete my account?

Ask for deletion with the contact form or at [email protected]. We delete account data within 30 days of your request. We keep payment records for 6 years from the end of the payment year under the Finnish Accounting Act. All retention periods are in the privacy notice.

The verification email has not arrived. What should I do?

First check your spam folder. Then check your address in My account and press “Send the email again”. You can use the button again after 30 seconds. If the email still does not come, write to us with the contact form.
